Hi there, I’m Harriet
In 2013 I travelled to China for a teaching internship - fast forward eight years and I'd taught in four different provinces, from Fujian to Shanghai!
Here I am (L) with my wonderful friend Rita, who I co-taught with in Shanghai.
Bio
China became my home after I left the UK as a university graduate. I first lived in Quanzhou, then Hefei, on to Sanya, and finally Shanghai. Over the years I taught at a high school, training centres and kindergartens, as well as giving private tuition.
In my free time I studied HSK (I'm currently practising for Level 5 and 6 exams) and quickly learnt to read, write and speak Mandarin. It helped me to improve my English teaching and also to better understand Chinese customs and culture. My favourite Chinese dish? Hotpot - the spicier the better!

Now I'm back in Britain but continue to teach Chinese students, this time over the internet rather than in the classroom.
